The planning policy

The White City Landowners share their vision for regenerating the White City Development site into a new vibrant urban quarter with the Greater London Authority and Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

Both the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the Greater London Authority have identified this site as a major development opportunity in a jointly adopted policy document, 'White City Opportunity Area - A Framework for Development.'

The document sets out a vision for the site that offers a vibrant mix of employment activities, new leisure facilities, housing and community facilities. The main ambition for the site is employment. It has the potential to deliver 11,000 jobs, but there is also scope to provide a minimum of 1,200 new homes, many of which could be affordable social housing. In addition to jobs and housing it has the potential to offer an abundance of other land uses including new restaurants, bars, leisure and community facilities together with new public squares and open spaces.
